Chin-Myanmar Community Care’s Community development is a process where community members take collective action on issues that are important to Chin-Myanmar Community in Melbourne and across Australia. Our community development is intended to empower community members and create stronger and more connected communities. CMCC community development is a holistic approach grounded in principles of empowerment, human rights, inclusion, social justice, self-determination and collective action. We initiate projects and initiatives aimed at empowering the Chin community, promoting community leadership, and fostering partnerships with local organizations and institutions as well as state and federal government agencies.
CMCC’s Approach of Community Development:

As part of community development, over the past two years, we have met with Natalie Hutchins MP (Minister for Education and Women), Dr. Deniel Mulino (Federal MP for Fraser), Michael Sukkar (Federal MP for Deakin), Shaw (Minister for Social Services), Natalie Suleyman MP (Minister for Veterans, Youth, and Small Business), Mr. Paris Aristotle AO (CEO of Foundation House), and the Victorian Multicultural Commission to build stronger collaboration regarding the issues facing the Chin-Myanmar communities in Australia as well as the situation of Chin-Myanmar refugees in India and the Chins’ IDPs in Myanmar. Moreover, we also make various connections with local communities and health sources, ethnic associations, or Chin community members in Melbourne and others from other parts of Australia to gather specific and up-to-date information on the services provided by our foundation or other similar organizations in the area.
