The 2021 Myanmar military coup marked the beginning of a ruthless campaign of artillery and airstrikes, leaving the Chin ethnic people devastated. This relentless onslaught has displaced approximately 430,000 Chin ethnic individuals from four regions: Sagaing Division, Magwe Division, Rakhine State, and Chin State, who are now struggling to survive in Myanmar.
The humanitarian crisis unfolding before our eyes is dire, with the Chin State alone hosting over 150,000 internally displaced people (IDPs). Moreover, a staggering 80,000 refugees have fled to neighboring India in search of safety. This catastrophic situation demands immediate attention, support, and action to alleviate the suffering of the internally displaced persons and refugees from Chin-Myanmar Communities and address their critical needs.
