The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the Chin community, intensifying financial, social, mental, and spiritual challenges. As a newly emerging migrant community, navigating this crisis is especially daunting due to cultural and linguistic barriers.

Language barriers and limited support have severely hindered community members’ ability to cope with stress, isolation, financial hardships, and mental health concerns. This has led to significant challenges in accessing health and social services, resulting in financial difficulties. Moreover, navigating COVID-19 information, health directives, testing, and vaccinations has been extremely challenging for most community members.

To address these challenges, our organization partnered with the Chin Broadcasting Network (CBN) to develop community-led content promoting COVID-safe behaviors, vaccination engagement, and social and economic recovery. This project aimed to provide multicultural communities with accurate and timely information, aligning with the Department of Health’s guidance.
