The Myanmar Military Coup has had a devastating impact, displacing hundreds of thousands of Chin ethnic people, forcing them to flee as internally displaced persons (IDPs) or refugees. This displacement results in significant losses, including homes, lands, livelihoods, personal documentation, family connections, and social networks. Consequently, IDPs and refugees often struggle to assert and enjoy their fundamental rights.

This forced displacement disproportionately affects individuals based on age, gender, and other diversity factors, leading to multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination and human rights violations throughout the displacement cycle. In response, Chin-Myanmar Community Care is committed to protecting and advocating for the rights of disadvantaged IDPs and refugees, ensuring their dignity and well-being are upheld.

➢ Child protection: Establish child protection mechanisms, ensuring the safety and well-being of Chin IDPs and Refugees children.
➢ Gender-based violence prevention: Implement programs to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, promoting women’s empowerment and safety.
➢ Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and interests of Chin IDPs and Refugees, promoting policy changes and support from governments and international organizations.
➢ Community engagement: Foster community engagement and participation, ensuring that Chin IDPs and Refugees are involved in decision-making processes and program implementation.
